Curd raita recipes

A raita is a simple recipe prepared by adding vegetables to the beaten curd.





Ingredients


  • Half cup of yoghurt/Curd
  • Few chopped cucumber slices 
  • chopped onion
  • chopped green chilli
  • chopped Carrot
  • chopped Tomato
  • 1 spoon of salt
  • chopped coriander leaves, mint leaves. If you want you can add chopped curry leaves as well.


Lets see the preparation method.


  • In bowl take half cup of curd and beat this well. 
  • To this curd add 1 spoon of salt. And chopped coriander and mint leaves.
  • Then add all chopped vegetables and mix well.
  • This raita  is very health and delicious . Because we have added all healthy vegitables and curd is also good for health.
  • After you mix all the ingredients for half minute, curd raita is ready.

Refrigerate for half an hour and enjoy this rytha with biryani or plain rice.

Carrot Halwa or Gazar ka Halwa

Hi friends, today I am gonna share a delicious and yummy sweet recipe. That is Carrot Halwa or Gazar Halwa:





The ingredients needed for carrot halwa are:


  • 6-7 fresh carrots.
  • Sugar - 1cup
  • 3 or 4 spoons ot butter or clarified butter
  • cardamom powder and
  • few dry fruits for garnish.


Lets see the recipe:


  • 1st wash the carrots and peel off the skin, then slice/grate  these carrots to small small pieces.
  • Now heat a pan and add 4 spoons of clarified butter. To this add carrot slices. and fry this for 5-10mins until carrots turn to pale yellow colour. Frying like this will ensure that halwa won’t have raw carrot smell. 
  • After that add 1 cup of sugar and fry this again on medium flame.
  • After 2 mins add cardamom powder and again fry this for 3-4 mins .
  • If you want u can add 1 pinch of food colour as well. This is optional. 


Now, carrot halwa is ready.

Take this into a serving bowl and garnish this with dry  fruits and wnjoy the sweet.

Rava Laddu

Hi friends, today i am gonna show u how to prepare Rava Ladoo. This a is a delicious sweet made from semolina.





Ingredients needed for preparing Rava Laddu:

Rava / sooji / semolina - 1 cup 

Milk  - 1/4 cup

Ghee / Clarified Butter - 3 spoons

Fried peanuts - 1/4 cup -optional

Dry Fruits 

cardamom seeds - 4

Sugar Powder - 1/2 cup. I have added cardamom powder also in this sugar powder.

Preparation method of rava laddu.


  • Heat 2 spoons of ghee in a pan and  roast the dry fruits untill they become lightly golden brown and crisp. Take these fried dry fruits in to a bowl.
  • Heat 3 spoons of ghee in the pan. After ghee is headed add 1 cup of rava / semolina. 
  • Roast the rava until you get a roasted aroma and it is turning lightly golden. Roast the rava on low flame.
  • In bowl take fried peanuts. To this add roasted rava 
  • Now add the remaining ingredients. Thats is add sugar powder. mix all these ingredients for few seconds until the mixture is well combined. 
  • Then, slowly add 2 spoons of  hot milk to this. and keep mix all these ingredients thouroghly
  • Now apply ghee to ur hands and take small amount of rava ladoo mixture and shape into a roundball.

Rava Ladoos is ready. Garnish this with roasted dry fruits and enjoy the sweet with your family and friends.

Saggubiyyam Payasam

Hello friends, today i am gonna show you how to prepare Saggubiyyam payasam.
This is famous south Indian sweet.

Ingredients:

Sago/Saggubiyyam - 1cup - In some areas its called as sabudhana
Jaggery  - 1 cup
milk- 1 cup
Water - 2 cups
Clarified butter/Ghee - 2 spoons
Few Dry Grapes  & Cashew nuts
Chopped coconut slices - this is optional. if you want u can skip this.
Cardamom Seeds - 3

Recipe:

1st fry the dry fruits in ghee or clarified butter and keep that aside

Then, fry the chopped coconut slices also on butter and keep it aside

Then, grind the cardamom seeds to powder.


Next, boil 2 cups of water in a bowl.

after water is boiled add 1 cup of milk.

after milk is boiled add 1 cup of Sago or Saggubiyyam. Stir this well and let it boil for 5 minutes so that sago is cooked properly.

Later add 1 cup of Jaggery powder and stir this well.

After it is cooked for 2mins, add cardamom powder.
Then add fried dry fruits and fried cocount slices.
let it boil on slow flame for half minute.

Now, Saggubiyyam payasam is ready. Let it cool down for 10mins and take it into a serving bowl. 

Enjoy the sweet with ur friends and family.

Doodh Peda Recipe



Doodh peda or milk peda or palkova is an Indian traditional sweet.

Ingredients needed for Doodh peda are:

Milk - 500ml
Milk Powder - 125gm
Sugar - 125gm
Cardamom seeds - 2 or 3
Ghee or clarified butter - 3 spoons

Doodh peda preparation(recipe):

1. Heat a pan , add 3 spoons of ghee or clarified butter.
2. Fry dry fruits in this ghee and take the fried dry fruits into a plate
3. In the same pan pour 500 ml of milk. 
4. Boil the milk till it condenses to half of its volume. 
5. To condensed milk, add cardamom powder , milk powder and sugar powder.
6. After 5mins of boiling all of them, thick mix or dough will be formed. Take this into a plate
7. Apply ghee to ur hands and prepare small and round balls using the milk mix/dough.
8.Doodh peda is ready. Garnish Doodh peda with dry fruits and enjoy.

Tomato bath recipe

Hi friends, 

This is one of my favorite south Indian break fast recipe. 

In some areas it is called as " Tomato Bath", "Tomato upma" , "Rava Upma Recipe ".

Tomato bath is very east and fast to prepare dish.

Ingredients:

semolina/ sooji /  rava - 1 cup ( Semolina is called as suji/sooji in hindi and as rava is other langugaes in india)
Tomatos- 2
Onsion -1 
Green Chillies - 3
Few Curry leaves
Black gram / Urad dal - 1 spoon
Bengal gram / Channa dal - 1 spoon
Red chillies - 1
Mustard seeds - 1/2 Spoon
Finely chopped Ginger - 1/2 spoon
oil - 2 or 3 spoons ( Depends on your taste)
Salt 
Water - 3 cups 

Recipe:

Cut vegetables and keep it aside
Heat the pan/bowl and add 2 spoons of oil
To the heat oil, add Black gram, Bengal gram, Mustard seeds, Red chilli and Onsion slices.
After onions turn brown color add other vegetables slices (Tomato slices, Green Chillies,Curry leaves). If you want you can add potato and carrot slices as well.
Then add finely chopped Ginger 
After 5seconds , add 1 cup of semolina/ sooji /  rava.
After rava turns into light yellow color and take that into a plate
Boil 3 cups of water and add salt to that water.
After water is boiled slowly add fried semolina/ sooji /  rava.
While adding rava , stir that well. Else lumps will be formed.
Let this cook on slow flame for 1min.
Taste Tomato bath is ready.
Garnish it and serve it with some chutney.
